چکیده

We present a novel method of imaging multiple moving targets using a SAR system transmitting ultra-narrowband continuous waveforms. Our method comprises of a new forward model that relates the velocity as well as re ectivity information at each location to a correlated received signal; and a novel image formation method based on ltered-backprojection and image-contrast optimization. The method results in well-focused re ectivity images of moving targets and their velocity estimates regardless of the target location, speed, and velocity direction. We present numerical experiments to demonstrate the performance of our imaging method.

Bistatic Synthetic Aperture Radar Imaging of Moving Targets Using Ultra-Narrowband Continuous Waveforms

We consider a synthetic aperture radar (SAR) system that uses ultra-narrowband continuous waveforms (CWs) as an illumination source. Such a system has many practical advantages, such as the use of relatively simple low-cost and low-power transmitters, and in some cases, using the transmitters of opportunity, such as television and radio stations. Additionally, ultra-narrowband CW signals are su...

Spatial, Temporal, and Spectral Aspects of Far-Field Radar Data

We develop a linearized imaging theory that combines the spatial, temporal, and spectral aspects of scattered waves. We consider the case of fixed, distributed transmitters and receivers, and a general distribution of objects, each undergoing linear motion; thus the theory deals with imaging distributions in phase space. We derive a model for the data that is appropriate for any waveform, and s...

Imaging moving targets from scattered waves

We develop a linearized imaging theory that combines the spatial, temporal and spectral aspects of scattered waves. We consider the case of fixed sensors and a general distribution of objects, each undergoing linear motion; thus the theory deals with imaging distributions in phase space. We derive a model for the data that is appropriate for any waveform, and show how it specializes to familiar...

Compressive radar with off-grid targets: a perturbation approach

Compressed sensing (CS) schemes are proposed for monostatic as well as synthetic aperture radar (SAR) imaging with chirped signals and Ultra-Narrowband (UNB) continuous waveforms. In particular, a simple, perturbation method is developed to reduce the gridding error for off-grid targets. A coherence bound is obtained for the resulting measurement matrix. A greedy pursuit algorithm, Support-Cons...

Doppler Synthetic Aperture Radar Interferometry: A Novel SAR Interferometry for Height Mapping using Ultra-Narrowband Waveforms

This paper introduces a new and novel radar interferometry based on Doppler synthetic aperture radar (Doppler-SAR) paradigm. Conventional SAR interferometry relies on wideband transmitted waveforms to obtain high range resolution. Topography of a surface is directly related to the range difference between two antennas configured at different positions. Doppler-SAR is a novel imaging modality th...
